Be clear about where the class is

SalsaCrazy is a salsa and bachata dance studio with multiple San Francisco locations, and both are in the city. If you live in Richmond, El Cerrito, Emeryville, Alameda, San Leandro, Hayward or anywhere else in the East Bay, a class with us means a trip across the bay. This page helps you decide whether that trip fits your week.

SalsaCrazy has taught San Francisco to dance since 1995. The Monday night has run for 20+ years. THE SalsaCrazy himself teaches the Monday classes personally — it is the only class he teaches.

Getting to Mondays in the Inner Richmond

Mondays are at Neck of the Woods, 406 Clement St, San Francisco, CA 94118, in the Inner Richmond. Beginner salsa and beginner bachata start from 6:30 PM, and a dance party follows.

By transit, take BART into San Francisco and then a Muni connection west. Muni lines 1-California, 2-Clement and 38-Geary all serve the area around Clement Street. Check the current transit planner for your station, because transfers vary by line and time of day.

By car, the usual route is the Bay Bridge into the city and then across to the Inner Richmond. Look for street parking on Clement and Geary, and allow extra time at Monday rush hour so you arrive before the basic is taught.

Getting to Fridays at Space 550

Fridays are the second option: Space 550, 550 Barneveld Ave, San Francisco, CA 94124, near the Bayview. Doors open at 7:45 PM, Beginning Bachata is at 8:00 PM, Beginning Salsa at 8:45 PM and Intermediate Bachata at 9:00 PM, then dancing until 1:30 AM. Friday is 21+ and has free street parking, which matters if you are driving in. Tickets are at dancefridays.fun.

For many East Bay drivers, Space 550 on the southeast side of the city is a simpler drive than the Inner Richmond. Friday is also a later night, so the trip happens after rush hour.

The local East Bay scene

The East Bay has its own dance scene. Just Dance Ballroom in Oakland is one name to know. We do not list its hours or prices here. For current East Bay listings, check sfdance.com, which has the full Bay Area calendar.

A practical plan is to learn the basics with us and dance locally on other nights, using sfdance.com to find them.

A plan for your first Monday

Pick a Monday and book ahead at salsabachatamondays.com. The party alone is $10 in advance against $20 at the door. Leave early enough to arrive before 6:30 PM, wear clothes you can move in and smooth-soled shoes that stay on, and expect to dance with many partners, because rotation is standard and most people come solo.

If you like it, the 4-Week Progressive Series starts on the first Monday of each month. November 2026 is a 5-week series starting Monday, November 2. Most people feel comfortable at a social after one series.
